Brain food: A selection of musings

Let's chat about design, productivity, and research - and I've got some sweet templates and tutorials to share. Sound good?

Miro Templates for Effective Asynchronous Workshops

This article was originally published in November 2022 but has been updated as of December 2024 to include enhanced templates, refined through years of experience as a remote worker.

Over the years, methodologies like these have transformed the way we collaborate across teams and approach challenges. Below, you’ll find a collection of ready-to-use Miro templates for workshops that we’ve successfully utilized at Hotjar to foster asynchronous collaboration between Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams.

Kick-off Miro template

  • Why use it: To align the team on project goals and objectives.

  • When to use it: At the beginning of the project.

  • Who should participate: All key team members should be represented, with at least one member from each discipline (Product, Design, Engineering).

  • Success outcome: Achieve a shared understanding of the project vision and objectives.

Tech feasibility Miro template

  • Why use it: Assess the technical feasibility of different design versions and prioritize them accordingly.

  • When to use it: After initial sketches and designs are completed, get feedback from engineers before moving forward.

  • Who should participate: Engineers (at least one, preferably the lead engineer for the project).

  • Success outcome: Understand the feasibility of different designs and prioritize based on complexity and resources.
